Do I need to bring fishing equipment?Goober Time Guide Service provides professional grade tackle and gear from companies such as: Catch the Fever, Shimano, Slime Line, AlphaBoardz, Mid-Atlantic Catfish Co., and many of our own, custom, pre-tied rigs. If you wish to bring your own gear, please contact Captain Dan, prior to your trip, to discuss.
-
Do you have anything to offer advanced anglers? We are happy to discuss fishing tactics and patterns for anglers who are looking to gain a better understanding of the fishery.
-
Do I need a Virginia Fishing License? You're welcome to purchase a Virginia fishing license, however it is not necessary. Goober Time Guide Service has a license that covers all anglers on board. We find this simplifies the experience for anglers from other states. Purchase Fishing License

Can we keep fish to eat?To help preserve our fishery, we practice CPR (catch, photo, release) with all of our trophy fish. You are welcome to keep smaller fish as long as they fall within Virgina creel limits.
-
What should I bring on the trip?Space disappears quickly on a boat so we recommend bringing only what is necessary. We recommend: rain gear, warm weather clothes, sunglasses, sea sickness medicine, food, snacks, beverages, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and a phone to take photos of your catch!
-
Are your trips suitable for children or beginners?Absolutley! We love helping new anglers and children fall in love with the sport of trophy fishing. There's nothing better than an ear to ear smile after catching a trophy catfish! Virginia law requires all children ages 13 and under to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD the entire time they're on the water. Please check with us about sizing or plan to bring your own PFD for children.

What happens if there is bad weather? Our boat is equiped with a full enclosure and heat so you can stay dry and warm during your trip. In the event of extreme weather, Captain Dan retains the right to cancel or reschedule a trip in order to maintain safety.
