Nicki booked a trip for her family with the goal of catching some catfish for a fish fry. We started off the morning sitting on a pile of eater size catfish. The rods were getting hit non-stop but the fish were being finicky and nothing was hooking up. After many missed takedowns, we downsized on baits and hooks and that decision paid off. Within a few minutes, one of the fish hooked up and we had our first eater fish of the trip.

The fish were still being finicky but we were starting to put more and more fish in the boat.

We stopped had the gill net soaking while we caught our first few fish so we pulled up the rods and grabbed some super fresh bait to use for the rest of the trip. This tim eof year, we like to run a 50ft Gill Net so we can let it soak next to us while we fish. We donwsize from a 100ft net so we don't catch more bait or bycatches than we need. If you're looking for a gill net, we have some available for purchase on our website.
We put another eater size catfish in the boat while we watched some Eagles hunting for breakfast, then it was time to move locations.

When we got tot he next spot, Captain Dan relized one of the bait pump in the bait tank burned up so we had to work extra hard with water changes and filter cleanings to keep our bait alive and healthy.

At our new spot, we caught a few more fish for the fish fry.

With about an hour left, our group decided they had enough fish for the fish fry and we took a shot at trophy fish. We moved to a new location on the river and marked some fish quickly. We sent live bait and cut bait down to the fish but they were not intersted. We tried drifting for a little while until it was time to head back to the ramp.
Thanks for coming out for an awesome day on the water! We hope the fish frty was delicious! Can't wait for the next trip!
