Service Description

Join Goober Time Guide Service for our 6 hour multi-species fishing trip. This is our "happy medium" option—perfect for the angler who wants to explore a few different river locations and "honey holes" without the exhaustion of a sunrise-to-sunset marathon. Escape the Crowds These trips are built for the adventurous. By utilizing kayaks, inflatable paddleboards, and our whitewater raft, we access remote stretches of river that traditional boats simply can’t reach. Because of this difficult access, these waters receive significantly less fishing pressure, offering a pristine environment and a better shot at untouched waters. Choose Your Water: The Upper James: Our most versatile destination. We offer trips via Kayak, Inflatable Paddleboard, and Whitewater Raft through these scenic, remote stretches. The Tidal James: For those looking to explore the lower reaches of the river, we offer Kayak-only trips tailored to the unique flow of the tide. An Authentic River Experience Experience the rush of landing a river monster up close and personal! In our opinion, there is no more exciting way to target these powerful fish than from a low-profile watercraft. Target Species: Blue Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and Smallmouth Bass. The Vessel: Your choice of Kayak, inflatable paddleboard (Upper James only), or whitewater raft (Upper James only). Is This Trip For You? This is an active adventure designed to maximize your time on the water. Fitness Required: Guests should be in good physical shape; we often paddle against the current or navigate obstacles to reach the best locations. Prepare to Get Wet: You are on the water and fully immersed in the elements. Ages: While we love teaching kids, kayak and paddleboard trips are limited to adults 18+. Children are more than welcome to join us on the whitewater raft when accompanied by a parent/guardian. The Happy Medium: Six hours allows us enough time to move between spots and target multiple species while keeping you off the water before you’re completely worn out. Quick Details Included: Professional rods, reels, tackle, bait, and expert river instruction. Bring: Water-ready clothing/footwear (you will get wet), properly fitting life jacket (required at all times), polarized sunglasses, sunscreen (no spray), and snacks/water. Note: Please reach out to Goober Time Guide Service before booking to discuss your specific goals and coordinate the best launch location for the day.

Cancellation Policy

Booking & Confirmation Upon scheduling, you will receive a Google Calendar invitation outlining your trip details, including: *Launch location, date, and time. *Guest count and financial summary (Amount Paid / Balance Due). *Specific trip goals. Please review this invitation carefully. We ask that you contact Captain Dan a few days prior to your trip to confirm final logistics and weather conditions. Deposit & Cancellation Policy Deposits: A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Payments: The remaining balance is due upon the conclusion of your trip. We prefer cash, though electronic payment options are available. Rescheduling: Because your reservation prevents other guests from booking, trips are held rain or shine. Rescheduling is only permitted if the Captain deems weather or water conditions hazardous. No-Show Policy: Cancellations or "no-shows" will be charged the full trip amount. Onboard Policies & Safety Licensing: Our vessel’s license covers all guests; individual fishing licenses are not required. Safety: In accordance with safety regulations, children aged 13 and under must wear a life jacket at all times while on board. Equipment: Goober Time Guide Service provides professional-grade tackle and gear. Guests are responsible for the cost of any equipment lost or damaged during the trip. If you wish to bring personal gear, please consult with Captain Dan in advance. Catch Policy: Harvest is permitted within state regulations. However, to preserve local fisheries, the Captain reserves the right to release "trophy-sized" fish to protect breeding genetics. Preparation & Packing Space on the vessel is limited; please bring only essential items. We recommend: *Appropriate clothing (layers and rain gear), sunglasses, and sunscreen. *Food, snacks, and beverages. *Sea sickness medication and hand sanitizer. Waiver & Risk Awareness Fishing involves inherent risks, including moving vessels, varying water conditions, and handling tackle or wildlife. By booking a trip with Goober Time Guide Service, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and that you assume all risks associated with the activity. A Liability and Assumption of Risk Waiver mustbe signed before the boat leaves the dock.
