Service Description

Join Goober Time Guide Service for a 4-hour adventure on the world-famous James River. This trip is the perfect sampler for guests visiting town or families looking to get out on the water without committing to a full-day marathon. Whether you’re a local wanting to learn the ropes or a traveler looking for a fun morning activity, Captain Dan provides expert guidance and professional gear to ensure a great time on the river. Is This Trip Right For You? This 4-hour charter is designed with families, kids, beginners, and tiem crunched individuals in mind. It is a fantastic way to experience the river and have fun catching some fish. Please Note: If your goal is to catch a trophy blue catfish, our 4-hour trip is not recommended. Locating and landing a true trophy fish takes a significant amount of time and patience to pattern active fish. Because these giants move constantly, we strongly recommend booking an 8-hour trip, or longer, if you are serious about searching for a personal best or a trophy fish of a lifetime. What’s Included All Gear Provided: Professional-grade rods, reels, tackle, and fresh bait. No License Required: The boat’s commercial license covers all guests on board. Expert Instruction: Techniques for drifting, anchoring, and handling big fish. Comfort: A stable, safe, and comfortable ride suitable for all ages. What to Bring Weather-appropriate clothing (dress in layers). A charged phone to document your catch. Properly fitting life jackets for children under 13 (if you own them). Food, snacks, and beverages (no glass or messy snacks). Sunglasses and sunscreen (no spray sunscreen). A cooler to take home your catch (if keeping eaters under 10 lbs). Ready to get on the water? Book your 6-hour trip today!

Cancellation Policy

Booking & Confirmation Upon scheduling, you will receive a Google Calendar invitation outlining your trip details, including: *Launch location, date, and time. *Guest count and financial summary (Amount Paid / Balance Due). *Specific trip goals. Please review this invitation carefully. We ask that you contact Captain Dan a few days prior to your trip to confirm final logistics and weather conditions. Deposit & Cancellation Policy Deposits: A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Payments: The remaining balance is due upon the conclusion of your trip. We prefer cash, though electronic payment options are available. Rescheduling: Because your reservation prevents other guests from booking, trips are held rain or shine. Rescheduling is only permitted if the Captain deems weather or water conditions hazardous. No-Show Policy: Cancellations or "no-shows" will be charged the full trip amount. Onboard Policies & Safety Licensing: Our vessel’s license covers all guests; individual fishing licenses are not required. Safety: In accordance with safety regulations, children aged 13 and under must wear a life jacket at all times while on board. Equipment: Goober Time Guide Service provides professional-grade tackle and gear. Guests are responsible for the cost of any equipment lost or damaged during the trip. If you wish to bring personal gear, please consult with Captain Dan in advance. Catch Policy: Harvest is permitted within state regulations. However, to preserve local fisheries, the Captain reserves the right to release "trophy-sized" fish to protect breeding genetics. Preparation & Packing Space on the vessel is limited; please bring only essential items. We recommend: *Appropriate clothing (layers and rain gear), sunglasses, and sunscreen. *Food, snacks, and beverages. *Sea sickness medication and hand sanitizer. Waiver & Risk Awareness Fishing involves inherent risks, including moving vessels, varying water conditions, and handling tackle or wildlife. By booking a trip with Goober Time Guide Service, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and that you assume all risks associated with the activity. A Liability and Assumption of Risk Waiver mustbe signed before the boat leaves the dock.
