Multispecies Family Fishing Trip

Fred, Lindsey, Charlotte, and Jackson joined us on the lake for a half-day multispecies fishing trip. The kids wanted to get on some fish so we deployed the mini crankbaits right away and began trolling. We had to play around with our speed and depths but our first fish of the morning was a largemouth bass, caught near a grass line.

A little while later, two rods went down and we pulled in a big white perch and another largemouth bass.

Charlotte was catching all the bass and Jackson wanted to catch one. Luck would have it that the next rod that went down was another largemouth bass that Jackson was able to catch!

We were putting the precision cast rods to work with another largemouth!

We went through a quiet patch as we trolled up the lake. As the sun rose higher in the sky, we increased our speed to get our crankbaits deeper into the water column. We also switched to the opposite side of the lake. This change in tactics dialed us into our third species of the morning, a nice crappie!

Our pink, deep diving crankbait, was starting to steal the show as it caught another crappie.

Our purple deep diving crankbait caught the next fish, which was a largemouth bass.

It was fun watching the kids get into the action and hear their excitement every time a rod went down.

We ended the morning with about a dozen fish. Thanks for joining us on the water! Hope to see you out here sometime soon!
